I was laying in bed yesterday reading while I was waiting for the boys to wake up. Taylor woke up first and joined me in bed and was petting Maggie. After a few minutes Taylor went to get up and we heard a joint pop. He looked at me and then said, "who was that?" I wasn't sure but told him that it wasn't me (I hadn't moved, in fact I hadn't moved for a very long time). He started to check Maggie over and was gently rubbing a few of her joints on her legs where he had been petting her. Then he moved to her face and checked her eyes. Taylor then announced, "her pupils are reactive, she is fine!"
It took everything I had to not laugh. Instead I told him that I was glad that she was okay. What an absolutely priceless moment!

UMMMM, I Don't Think You're A Girl!

Remember this cute picture? When I first brought "Bella" home and added her to our family. She was so cute and sweet.

Well our Kitten has grown fast and now is this big furry cat that likes to lounge around the house and take naps with me. However, something weird happened yesterday. While Bella was cleaning herself I saw something that I was pretty sure did not belong to a girl. I was quit surprised and looked a little further to find our that our little Bella is indeed not a girl.
The boys decided that we needed to find a new name for our cat and that he must be suffering with low self esteem from being called a girl for so many months. I looked up boy names on the internet and found nothing I liked. The boys suggested several names that were fun but still didn't seem right. My favorite name that Kelton suggested was Prince Poppycock (from "America's Got Talent"). That one had us all laughing.
Later on, after the boys were in bed, Kenny suggested that we name him Tony, like from the "Sopranos". I know here I am again referring to the "Sopranos". It has stuck and our cat now has a new name. Now I just hope he learns it quickly. Now I hope I can begin to remember it quickly as well :)
It is official, our cat is now named Tony. We now have two male pets and I am back to being the only girl in the house.
Here is a picture of our four legged kids wrestling, its their favorite thing to do.
Charlie is at a slight disadvantage with his little legs, but Tony comes away pretty wet from Charlie licking him so much and trying to fit Ton'y whole head into his mouth. They are so funny to watch and like any paranoid mother would do, when it gets to rough I break them up.
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt!

Nap Time
In my Relief Society news letter this month they challenged us to "Capture a moment each day." They asked that we take our camera's with us and take a picture of something that we love about this time of year. I know this picture may be a weird way to start this challenge, but I thought it was sweet. Pets always know when your not feeling well and I was having a hard day, so when I finally got to rest for a minute they both forgot that they can't stand each other and curled up with me for a little nap.
Obviously, I didn't take this picture but I'm glad to have it. Thank you Kenny!!

The Art of Begging
Even though this is the pose most of you are used to seeing of Charlie.....
As soon as there is food around, he becomes alert and at the ready. As soon as Kenny sat down to eat dinner last night, Charlie was immediately at his feet. His lightning fast reaction and ease of stealth made me wonder if he has had special ops training.
(Sorry about the demon eyes, I think it's time to start paying more attention to the photography section on Pioneer Woman's blog)

Of course Kenny can't say no, so he begins to share his dinner with Charlie. Pretty soon I'm wondering if Charlie spent some time with the circus to learn this kind of balancing after he was done with his special ops missions.
And of course, who can say no to this kind of talent? Not us!!!!!

Before long he is back to his lounging in the sun and resting for his next mission. You never know when or where food may appear next, and he must be ready.

Bella
We have added a new member to our family. And, please no more questions as to why I did this. I know I'm not a real animal lover, but there is this one soft spot somewhere in me that thinks I need to help every animal (and sometimes car) that needs a good home.
A girl that I work with went to the Manti pageant and there was a woman there giving away kittens. She decided to take one and bring it home, with out talking to her mom first. Well, come to find out her mom hates cats and her brother is allergic to them. The poor kitten was banished to a kennel outside. I had to do something. I couldn't just leave it in a kennel outside.
I sent Kenny a text to ask him if he was okay with me bringing home a kitten, thinking he would say, "no, remember, Charlie is our only and last pet!" But he surprised me and said sure. Plans were put in place for my co-worker to bring the kitten back when it was time for me to leave work and I asked Kenny to start thinking of a name. He quickly said I needed to name her because he named the dog. He never gave me a chance, he text me back within minutes and said, "how about Bella?" Perfect! I mean what kind of a Twilight fan would I be if I didn't name at least one member of our family after a character from the books.

This is Bella! She's a whinny little shit, so the name fits her perfectly.
